JASON STONEKING READS NEW POETRY AT SWERVE: CULTURE NIGHT 2025.

JASON STONEKING is an American poet and performer based in Paris. His practice focuses on the creation of handwritten and site-specific texts, as in his Bespoke Books series, for which he writes an entire unique book by hand, in a single draft, for an individual reader, event, or residency. For his Portrait Sittings, he invites subjects to pose for him as they would for a painter, while he composes their portrait in handwritten words, then presents them with the original manuscript drafted during the session. In his newest series, Sky Sketches (inspired by the Skies Sketchbook of JMW Turner) he improvises handwritten impressions of the sky in words.
