EXPLORING INTIMACY, DEEP TIME AND THE MEGALITHS OF IRELAND

In this talk, Rodriguez will give a brief overview of her artistic practice followed by a more in-depth discussion on her current/ongoing research into sacred landscapes and the megalithic structures of Ireland.

Focusing on the spirit of stone as both active witness and evolutionary agent in the constant cyclical process of the earth’s becoming, Rodriguez highlights the deep intimacy between the human and the more-than-human world. Her work explores how these neolithic sites speak about climate change in relation to time, astronomy, divinity, geology, human history, and our role as ancestors of future generations.
